The Associate Experience

UELIP Associates

UELIP isn’t your average internship. Associates are tasked with real responsibilities and make meaningful contributions to critical DCPS priorities.  They support DCPS teams on a variety of projects, while engaging in periodic opportunities for professional development.

In the past, UELIPs have contributed to key initiatives in human capital, special education, and curriculum and instruction. Our Summer 2012 cohort provided support on such projects as the rollout of the Common Core State Standards in math, the preparations for the 2012-13 school openings, and the launch of the District’s new teacher career ladder system, to name a few.

While associates have many responsibilities, they do not work alone.  Associates serve as part of a team in Central Office, under the supervision of a DCPS supervisor.

Follow the links below to learn more about what the associates experience in this program.
