SY 2007-08 and 2008-09 Survey Results: Staff, Parents, Students 2007-08 and 2008-09
During the 2008-2009 school year District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) conducted a survey of students, parents, faculty and staff. Nearly 20,000 DCPS stakeholders confidentially weighed in on topics, including satisfaction levels, facilities, and academics.
The purpose of the stakeholder surveys is twofold:
- To identify areas of improvement.
- To use as both an accountability and progress measure.

2007-2008 Survey Results: Staff, Parents, Students
In June 2008, surveys were administered to students in 7th to 12th grade. There was a 31% response rate. Survey questions were included to address areas of interest to school stakeholders including students, DCPS and central staff.

Parent Survey Results
In the spring of 2008, the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) administered a telephone poll for DCPS parents/guardians. The purpose of the survey was to obtain feedback about how satisfied parents were with school district services, how things were going in the schools, what current needs were, and whether or not these needs were being met. This information will be used for planning and for measuring performance over time.

Staff Survey School Reports
In the fall of 2007 (November-December), the American Institutes for Research® partnered with the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) to administer an online survey for all DCPS school based staff members. This information will be used for planning and for measuring performance over time.
The results from the staff survey are now available. Every school that had at least a 50 percent response rate and at least 10 respondents has a school level report.
