The DC Office of the People's Counsel and District Department of the Environment will host the annual Energy Expo on Saturday, November 14, from 10 am to 4 pm at the Washington Convention Center. Recreation Centers to Install Community Gardens Courtesy of Whole Foods. Mayor Adrian M. Fenty, Department of Parks and Recreation Interim Director Ximena Hartsock and Whole Foods Market Regional President Ken Meyer joined the Ward 6 community and environmental stakeholders to announce a new District-wide community garden program. Whole Foods donated $25,000 to DPR to install community gardens at 56 recreation centers across the District of Columbia. The donation will be put towards tools, plants, soil and mulch. Read more >>
