Mayor Williams visited the District government's new shelter for homeless men. The New York Avenue facility officially opened on Friday, December 19, 2003, and will provide shelter for homeless men currently sheltered temporarily at the Gales School. The shelter is staffed by Catholic Charities and managed for the Department of Human Services by the Community Partnership for the Prevention of Homelessness.
