Mayor Williams joined Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton and Postmaster Delores Killette in unveiling the new diamond-shaped postage stamp honoring the District of Columbia. The District of Columbia commemorative stamp was displayed at a press conference at the Lincoln Theatre, which is a cornerstone of the famed U Street corridor of Washington, DC. The stamps are scheduled to be issued in September.
