Mayor Anthony Williams, Councilmember Vincent Orange, and president of Bank of America Greater Washington William Couper unveil a new concept in retail banking at the groundbreaking of the Rhode Island Avenue banking center in Northeast. The new bank design will become the standard for more than 550 banking centers to open nationwide by 2005—an initiative that includes significant Bank of America expansion plans in greater Washington.
