Mayor Anthony Williams, in partnership with R&B sensation New Edition, hosted a citywide Talent Showcase on October 7 at McKinley Technology High School in Northeast Washington. The citywide event supported SOUL (Saving Our Children's Lives) in DC: A Day with New Edition, which had two objectives: 1) to end youth violence in our city and 2) to encourage young people to focus on music as a positive alternative outlet. New Edition also visited several local high schools. Mayor Williams presented the musical group with a proclamation.
