Mayor Williams and Cabinet Meet to Incorporate Citizen Priorities From Neighborhood Action Citizen Summit
(Washington, D.C.) Mayor Anthony A. Williams convened his cabinet today to incorporate input received from more than 3,000 residents during the Citizen Summit into the administration's strategic plan for the city. The two-day effort represents the next step forward for Neighborhood Action, and helps follow through on the Mayor's commitment to take residents' concerns seriously.
Since the Citizen Summit, a team of staff and volunteers has been painstakingly analyzing data collected at the summit, to be used by cabinet members to revise action plans for the city.
"We've heard from citizens," said Mayor Williams. "Now it's time to do what we said we would do-incorporate their views. Neighborhood Action is about investing decision making power with our citizens and neighborhoods. I'm asking citizens to come to the plate and get involved in Neighborhood Action, but I want everyone to know that I respect their views and I want them to help me set the agenda."
