October 27, 2009US District Court Dismisses Union Lawsuit Against DPR Yesterday, the United States District Court granted the Districts motion to dismiss the complaint filed by the American Federation of Government Employees.
In response to Judge Thomas F. Hogans decision, Mayor Adrian M. Fenty and Attorney General Peter Nickles issued the following statements:
The Administration is pleased with yesterday's ruling. This decision allows the District to move forward with its commitment to provide residents with the best possible day care options, said Mayor Fenty.
Peter Nickles said, I am particularly gratified by the courts prompt resolution of this outstanding litigation. The decision essentially supports the Districts prerogative to assert sound operational principles in an effort to effectively and successfully manage the Department of Parks and Recreation.
