Red, white, and blue signs identify Metrobus stops. Some stops also have route and schedule information. Metrobuses stop only at designated stops.
Metrobus drivers do not provide change, so you will need exact change, unless you have a pass. When you board the bus, insert your fare into the box next to the driver. Pay the $1.10 ($2 express) fare with a $1 bill(s) plus coins, or with all coins (pennies, too).
Ask your bus driver for a FREE bus-to-bus transfer. This transfer is valid for unlimited Metrobus connections-including round trips-within the two-hour period shown on transfer.
If you need a bus-to-bus transfer, ask your driver. With this free transfer, you can make unlimited bus connections-including round trips-within the two-hour period printed on the transfer.
To transfer from Metrorail to Metrobus, get a rail-to-bus transfer at the Metro station after you pass through the gate. Transfers reduce your fare to 25¢ on regular Metrobus routes and $1.15 on express routes. Transfers enable senior citizens and disabled riders to ride free with a valid Metro ID card or Medicare card. Rail-to-bus transfers are not valid for stopovers, return trips, or within four blocks of where they are issued.
